Founded in 1980, the Southern Ontario Neuroscience Association (SONA) is an official local chapter of the Society for Neuroscience. The membership includes all those interested in neuroscience research from molecular and cellular neuroscience, invertebrate neurobiology, to mammalian and human brain and behaviour. The purpose of the association is to advance understanding of the structure and function of the nervous system, to bring together neuroscience researchers, including faculty and students from nearby universities, and to promote neuroscience education.
